Here are some pictures of Kilternan in the 1930's.

Taken from where the Statoil Garage is today, you can see Our Lady of the Wayside Church and Three Rock Mountain in the distance, minus the antennae.  You will notice an "esso" sign on the gates into the petrol station. The photo was originally taken in the late 1930's, really to capture the 'old crocks race'.  Click on the picture and you can stretch to enlarge
